Chapter 95

The green-robed man at the front spoke with a slightly trembling voice.

“Are you really the  Righteous Hero Sword?”

“I am Wei Jeong-han of the Wei Family.”

“…How is Righteous Hero Sword in this place?”

Why has someone who should be in Guangdong appeared in this distant place?

“That’s not something you need to know.”

Wei Jeong-han changed the subject, finding it somewhat embarrassing to say he was on his way to find his son.

“What will you do? Will you step aside, or will you feel with your bodies just how sharp my sword is?”

The Green Forest bandits silently retreated.

If it was truly the Righteous Hero Sword, there was nothing to think about. Their number was merely five. Even if there were fifty instead of five, they couldn’t handle the Righteous Hero Sword.

“Please pass through.”

The Green Forest bandits retreated far to the left and right.

“Hmm, you understand words well.”

Wei Jeong-han grabbed and released the handle of the sword at his waist, clicking his tongue.

The sight felt like someone disappointed they couldn’t stretch their hands, sending chills down their spines.

“Green Forest has no intention of antagonizing the Guangdong Wei Family.”

“Well, I have thoughts about it.”

Wei Jeong-han looked at them with regretful eyes once, then climbed onto the carriage.

Mo San-ah summarized the situation.

“Hao Clan also has no intention of creating animosity with Green Forest. However, the person riding is rather…”

“I understand.”

Mo San-ah bowed her head and climbed up, and the carriage began to slowly pass through the road.

As the carriage slowly moved away, one man spoke up.

“Are we letting them go like this?”

“Then what?”

“The Green Forest King ordered us to block everyone on the road.”

“He did.”

“Letting them go like this means disobeying the Green Forest King’s orders.”

“It’s fine.”

“But…”

“Didn’t I say it’s fine? Would you block the path even if the Emperor passed by, citing the Green Forest King’s orders?”

“…”

“Don’t try to handle things too rigidly. The day will come when that strangles your own neck. If someone from above pressures you, just say ‘Righteous Hero Sword’ and that’s enough.”

“Understood.”

The Green Forest bandit stared blankly at the departing carriage.

‘To think they’d really retreat.’

Though she had expected it, the result was shocking. At just the words “Righteous Hero Sword,” all the Green Forest bandits had retreated.

‘Even after mentioning the Green Forest King’s name…’

When Green Forest bandits invoked the Green Forest King’s name, it was like showing their will to never negotiate. Yet with just the name Righteous Hero Sword, their will had been broken.

It meant that the name Righteous Hero Sword was synonymous with terror in the underworld, more than Mo San-ah had known.

She had known it from documents, but there was a big difference between knowing something as mere information and feeling it with her skin, Mo San-ah realized anew.

But then…

“Why are you going so slowly!”

“Sang-ah, Yeon-ho won’t die from being a little late.”

“If even a scratch appears on my precious child, you’ll have to live doing nothing but that beloved martial arts practice of yours for the rest of your life, starting that very day.”

“Huh? Isn’t that a good thing?”

“It would be good! So don’t even think about coming home!”

“The carriage is too slow!”

When Wei Jeong-han suddenly stood up and shouted at the coachman, the night traveler said with a bitter smile.

“We’re going as fast as possible right now. If we increase speed any more, the horses won’t be able to endure it. We’re controlling the speed with the plan to change horses at the first horse market we can reach, so please understand a little.”

“…So he says.”

“Then you should have resolved things quickly and come back, instead of dragging things out again.”

“I was wrong.”

Mo San-ah, thinking that Wei Jeong-han might soon achieve Buddhahood, quietly opened the window and said softly.

“Please try to increase the speed a bit.”

“This is the best we can do.”

“Consider it as saving someone’s life.”

“…I’ll try my best.”

Hearing the situation—that they were going to meet a son who had been missing for five years—how could his feelings not be overwhelming? Still, seeing him pressure people like that made Mo San-ah feel sorry for Wei Jeong-han.

“Sang-ah, I know I’ve committed sins and can’t say anything, but isn’t this too harsh? Isn’t it about time you forgave me?”

Mo San-ah found herself nodding unconsciously.

“What’s the problem with someone who left a newborn baby at home and went on martial arts travels for several years? Just do it like you did back then.”

“Huh? Such a thing happened?”

Mo San-ah’s mind quickly calculated. Comparing Wei Yan-ho’s age with Wei Jeong-han’s martial arts travel period, Mo San-ah’s eyes grew cold.

“How could you do such a thing?”

Mo San-ah began looking at Wei Jeong-han as if he were vermin.

“I even gave birth to the child alone.”

“Oh my!”

“Others say that when someone gets pregnant, they bring yellow peaches even in midwinter, but I… sob!”

Mo San-ah concluded that there was no room for sympathy for Wei Jeong-han and opened the window again.

“Uncle.”

“Yes, miss?”

“Let’s go at normal speed.”

“…Yes.”

The night traveler, who had been listening to everything happening inside, quietly clicked his tongue.

Though he felt sorry as a fellow man, if he showed sympathy here, he’d suffer a terrible fate too.

Hadn’t there been that anecdote where a married son complained for three years about his father not buying what his pregnant wife wanted to eat, and when the father heard this, he said he’d been suffering for thirty years?

‘That’s why you should do things properly.’

Wei Jeong-han’s sighing was urging his hands.

Jin So-ah could understand what the phrase “lightning speed” meant.

Just two days after Wei Yan-ho brought up the topic, the place where the Black Spider Gang had been was taking the form of a medical clinic.

“This side is the medicine room, and this side is the treatment room. The hall master’s room over there! Fill the hall master’s room with things that just look flashy on the surface!”

And at the center of it all was Ha Dae-bung.

He didn’t know how someone who had been a war camp leader had such talent, but Ha Dae-bung seemed like someone born for the position of general manager. Once the plan was made, he calculated budget estimates at terrifying speed, then instantly recruited people to set up the medical clinic, fill it with medicines, and began recruiting talent.

“Hurry up! Hurry! Don’t straighten your backs while working! You should straighten your back once after moving ten loads of medicine!”

“…A demon.”

Ha Dae-bung nagged intermittently while encouraging the workers. Since he was paying daily wages for work, his will to make sure they didn’t rest for even a moment and definitely earn their pay was palpable.

‘Well, he is a miser.’

People suddenly became curious about what was happening at the Black Spider Gang and peeked their heads out to look inside.

Those who saw the construction in full swing began to whisper.

“What’s going on?”

“It looks like someone new is moving into the building.”

“What about those villain gangs?”

“Don’t you know? Those guys… they all became cripples and got kicked out a few days ago.”

“Weren’t they people even the country couldn’t touch? Who did such an admirable thing?”

“I don’t know that either. More than one or two people saw them limping away, supporting each other with broken parts.”

“Then who’s using this place now? Even though those sinister guys used it, is there someone who wants to move in?”

“Right?”

People’s questions were soon to be answered.

A large sign began to be hung at the main gate.

“Sacred Hand Hall?”

The gate was soon covered with a large cloth, but those who needed to see had already seen it.

“What does this mean? A medical clinic is moving in? To the place where those sinister guys lived?”

“It’s a good thing, but…”

People looked at the sign covered with cloth with uneasy eyes.

Having a medical clinic move in was good, but since such bad people had been using the place, they worried those guys might come back and cause trouble.

Like getting hit by frost while standing next to a harsh person, their honest feeling was that they might get entangled by going for treatment.

Then, someone came out from inside.

“Oh?”

Seeing the middle-aged man with dignified bearing wearing silk clothes, everyone’s eyes widened.

“Citizens! Two days from now, we will hold a feast to announce the opening of Sacred Hand Medical Clinic, so please come in large numbers to celebrate the birth of the new medical clinic.”

“Ooh!”

A feast.

While it was common to set off firecrackers or distribute rice cakes when opening, holding a feast like this was uncommon.

“Can we bring many people?”

The middle-aged man nodded with a good-natured smile.

“Of course. Please tell more people. We’ll prepare plenty of food, so don’t worry.”

“Let’s do that.”

Ha Dae-bung smiled brightly and turned to go inside. And as soon as he turned around, his expression changed.

“Who told you to rest! I said we have to finish construction by today, so don’t rest and work! You there! Since patients need to go up those stairs, don’t make them high—make them low and closely spaced! How many times do I have to tell you!”

Ha Dae-bung’s nagging was endless.

Jin So-ah watched Ha Dae-bung and kept nodding. Success was achieved by people like that.

“But…”

Young Master Wei… where did he go?

“The weather is sooo nice~”

Wei Yan-ho was lying on the roof tiles, receiving the beating sun and patting his belly.

Ha Dae-bung had told him not to wander around interfering with construction and to just eat this, giving him dried persimmons to munch on. Receiving the cool breeze, it was like heaven.

Though Wei Yan-ho’s preference was inside rooms rather than on roof tiles, he couldn’t shut himself in a room when everything was in chaos. All the rooms were in the process of being renovated to receive patients.

“There’s really nothing easy in this world.”

It was a fact he felt anew watching people work diligently. Then, someone put a ladder against the roof tiles and climbed up.

“Huh?”

Ha Dae-bung poked his face over the roof tiles.

“It’s roughly finished.”

“That’s fast.”

“There’s less to do than expected. The building already exists, and since those guys lived there, there aren’t many places to repair. We just need to repair places where drafts come through and make it easy for patients to get around.”

“Yes, definitely. But the preparations are going well, right?”

“Of course.”

Ha Dae-bung nodded with a stern face.

Depending on how the opening was done, people’s views of the medical clinic would change. Since there were several negative factors, they had to pay careful attention.

Ha Dae-bung clenched his fists.

Intuiting that this was the moment that would determine his life’s fate, Ha Dae-bung burned with the single-minded determination to make the opening a success.

“Ah, hot!”

Wei Yan-ho, who had rolled backward once to distance himself from Ha Dae-bung, complained.

“Too much enthusiasm brings accidents.”

“I’ll be careful about that. So… is what I mentioned prepared?”

“I should go now.”

Wei Yan-ho sighed.

He just wanted to lie down and rest for half a day, but he didn’t know why there was so much to do.

“That’s the key point.”

“I got it.”

Wei Yan-ho slowly got up and went down from the roof tiles. Then he left the building and disappeared somewhere.

Ha Dae-bung watched the scene and clenched his fists.

Thus, carrying the expectations and concerns of many people, the day of Sacred Hand Hall’s new opening dawned.

There’s henpecked and there’s abuse. Their marriage isn’t healthy to say the least.

    Thank you for translating.💕

lol, the fact that they still have a marriage is a miracle. You can’t blame MC’s mum for how she behaves. She just spent the last 5 years thinking that the child she raised (mostly without her husband) was probably dead because he insisted on sending his lazy ass to an academy.
