Chapter 618:

“Hey, hey you!”

Even Wei Jeong-han couldn’t continue his words.

It wasn’t like this was the first or second time Wei Yan-ho had caused trouble, but what Wei Yan-ho was doing now was on a completely different level from everything he’d done before.

‘He’s going to die, this crazy bastard!’

Jang-il is strong.

Wei Jeong-han acknowledged that fact. Everyone gathered around Wei Yan-ho was uniformly strong. So strong that Wei Jeong-han at the same age would seem utterly pathetic in comparison.

It wasn’t like this in the beginning.

Mu San-do, Jang-il, and even Peng Dao-ji were all late-stage masters with their own abilities, fully qualified to lead the next generation of the martial world, but they were still just late-stage masters.

But now it’s different.

Staying by Wei Yan-ho’s side and overcoming countless life-threatening crises, they had become completely different people from their past selves.

Not too long ago, Wei San-ho had been the representative of the late-stage generation. Wei San-ho had received evaluations questioning whether there had ever been anyone who reached that level at his age, and he had naturally claimed the position of the next generation’s number one under heaven.

But looking at them now, could these people really be inferior to Wei San-ho from back then?

Absolutely not.

It was just that with Wei Yan-ho right next to them, and with everyone around Wei Yan-ho being at such a high level, they couldn’t fully realize it. But these people already possessed the skills to easily defeat the Wei San-ho of the past.

Looking at them, you could see how important environment and experience are to martial artists.

Yes, Jang-il had become strong.

Now, even the first disciples of major sects wouldn’t be able to easily handle Jang-il. That’s how strong Jang-il had become.

But the ones now reaching out their hands toward Jang-il with bared teeth were all elites from various major sects, weren’t they? If it was just one, he might somehow manage to face them, but when dozens of such people were rushing at him simultaneously, how could Jang-il possibly handle that?

Even if a mouse became strong and then stronger still, becoming absurdly powerful, it might somehow be able to face one cat. That would also be nonsensical, but let’s say such a thing could happen.

But what if dozens of cats were rushing at it?

That’s not something a mouse could handle.

And now Wei Yan-ho had thrown that mouse into a pack of cats.

“Hey, you crazy bastard!”

Hiiiiik!

“He’s not even human!”

Everyone stopped and turned around.

The martial artists who had lost their reason—no, the beasts—all turned their gazes toward Jang-il falling from the sky and reached out their hands. Whether it was due to the instincts from decades of training, their beloved weapons were still held in their hands.

It created a strange feeling that these people, who had lost their reason to the point where they couldn’t properly display their martial arts, still hadn’t let go of their weapons.

Of course, if Jang-il, who was about to die right now, had known this fact, he would have screamed about whether this was the time for such observations.

‘Somehow, somehow!’

This wasn’t a situation to be assigning blame. What meaning was there in determining who did well or poorly? In the time it would take to assign blame, Jang-il would die. Somehow, they had to save that Jang-il right now.

Wei Jeong-han urgently drew his sword.

Then, just as he was about to launch his body forward.

“Huh?”

Wei Jeong-han’s eyes widened.

‘That lightning-struck bastard!’

Jang-il’s eyes had already rolled back. Of course, this wasn’t something to blame him for. Anyone would show the same reaction if they went through something like this.

Isn’t it natural that if you stay next to a troublemaker, you get struck by lightning together? Even knowing this fact well, his fault for staying by his side couldn’t be called small.

Hiik!

Jang-il turned his head to look down, and the sight of martial artists pointing swords at him entered his vision.

Grrrrrr!

Kieeeek!

Jang-il turned his head again.

‘I’d rather not look.’

That wasn’t something that could be solved by looking at it with his eyes. Rather than just making himself sick with worry, it was better not to look.

The fortunate thing was that there was still time to do something about it, and the unfortunate thing was that he was still falling at this very moment. Thanks to that crazy bastard throwing a person into the sky like a ball, the disaster of falling directly into their hands hadn’t occurred.

The problem was that the situation was bad enough that he had to consider that fortunate.

‘I have to survive!’

Life is lived alone anyway. There’s no one to save you or not save you.

Jang-il suddenly regretted not training more diligently in lightness skills. If he had trained hard and could perform Flying Through the Void or Treading on Air, he could have easily resolved the current crisis!

But regret was useless now.

Jang-il drew his Staff from his waist.

Blood vessels appeared in his eyes. Both eyes flashed wildly.

‘Whining won’t change anything!’

Thanks to Wei Yan-ho, he had learned this. No matter how much you complain and blame others, nothing changes. If you want to survive, you have to carve out your own path to survival.

Uraaaaaa!

His pitch-black Staff spewed out black steel energy.

As he spun his body around, the martial artists who had lost their reason came into view.

“Everyone get out of the way, you bastards!”

Traveling with Wei Yan-ho, all that remained was wickedness. Just because he couldn’t handle the situation with force didn’t mean he could just say ‘okay’ and die.

Even if he had to die, he had to bite onto a trouser leg and hold on. If not that, then he had to bite a shin with his teeth.

When Jang-il unleashed his fighting spirit, the martial artists reacted violently.

Kieeeeeeek!

Kaaaaaaaaaak!

And seeing their reaction, Jang-il became somewhat disheartened.

‘Should I not have provoked them?’

They looked ready to tear him apart completely.

Wouldn’t it have been better to just die quietly without provoking them?

That was the moment.

Woooooooong!

Some buzzing sound could be heard. Jang-il quickly turned his head.

A large mass of light was charging toward them. The light was so bright and dazzling that he couldn’t see inside it at all, but Jang-il naturally knew who was emitting that light.

“Wei Yan-hoooooo!”

There was only one martial art under heaven that emitted light, wasn’t there?

Wei Yan-ho came rushing and crashed into the martial artists. With their attention focused on Jang-il, they couldn’t properly sense Wei Yan-ho. And Wei Yan-ho didn’t miss that opportunity.

Uracha!

Intense light burst from Wei Yan-ho’s body as he instantly penetrated into the center of the martial artists.

Kkeuu!

Kiiiiik!

As the mass of light suddenly burst forth, the martial artists staggered backward.

‘What is he trying to do?’

Everyone’s gazes were fixed on Wei Yan-ho.

And then…

Urachaaaaaaaaaaa!

Wei Yan-ho let out a tremendous battle cry. At the same time, dazzling light burst from his body. Intensely brilliant light that seemed like it would blind the eyes. It was as if the sun had risen above the earth.

Those engulfed in that enormous light covered their eyes and sat down on the spot.

Kkulleok!

Someone coughed up blood, someone rolled on the ground. Watching this scene, Wei Jeong-han unconsciously opened his mouth.

‘When you just look at things like that, he really seems like an amazing guy.’

Wei Yan-ho probably didn’t deliberately learn such martial arts, but certainly at times like this, there was an aspect that overwhelmed people just by appearance. No matter what martial art from anywhere under heaven was displayed in this situation, it wouldn’t give the same overwhelming feeling as Wei Yan-ho.

Regardless of the martial art’s utility, being able to make people admire you just by appearance was a tremendous advantage.

If Wei Jeong-han didn’t know what kind of person Wei Yan-ho was, he would have applauded and been moved, thinking he had seen the bearing of a hero. It was that impressive a sight.

‘What on earth is happening?’

With Wei Jeong-han’s head… no, to be precise, with Wei Jeong-han’s martial level, he couldn’t properly grasp what was happening right now.

It seemed like Wei Yan-ho was doing something tremendous, but all he could see was light flashing brightly while those who had lost their reason collapsed one by one.

‘Well… would it change anything if I understood?’

He’ll handle it himself.

And Wei Yan-ho organized the situation quite well, just as Wei Jeong-han thought. In an instant, all those who had been chasing Jang-il collapsed to the ground.

Whew.

Wei Yan-ho wiped the sweat from his forehead. Then he turned around with a face full of pride.

It looked like he was about to say something confidently, but that intention wasn’t fulfilled.

Crack!

Jang-il, who had landed on the ground, rushed at Wei Yan-ho like mad with his Staff drawn.

Uaaaaaa! You die, I die! You bastard!”

“Why is he acting like this again?”

Wei Yan-ho casually dodged the Staff being swung wildly.

It wasn’t actually wild swinging—that’s just how the Staff Technique was. To others, it originally looked like wild swinging. The essence of the Beggar’s Sect was melted into it.

But Wei Yan-ho was turning that Beggar’s Sect Staff Technique into real dog-beating stick work.

Uaaaak! Get hit! Get hit, will you! Get hit a little, man!”

Tsk!

Wei Yan-ho kicked Jang-il’s butt.

Kyaul!

“This guy always shows off when he shouldn’t and doesn’t know when to show off and when not to.”

Jang-il, who had rolled on the ground, jumped up.

“Are you human? Are you human?”

“What’s the problem?”

“I almost died, you crazy bastard!”

“Not a hair on your head was hurt, so it’s fine.”

“My heart almost stopped!”

“Yeah, yeah, you had a hard time. But thanks to that, we solved it, didn’t we?”

Wei Yan-ho gestured with his chin to the side. There, hundreds of people were lying collapsed on the ground all at once.

“…”

Seeing that sight, Jang-il had no choice but to smack his lips. Results can’t justify the means, but when the results are this dramatic, questioning such things makes you seem petty instead.

“What did you do?”

“Thanks to you drawing their attention.”

Wei Yan-ho shrugged his shoulders.

“People who should have collapsed already were too energetically causing trouble.”

“That’s right.”

“Then there must be a reason. It seemed like it was probably because of those Demonic Energies, so I tried pushing the Demonic Energy away. The result is as you can see.”

Jang-il closed his mouth.

It sounds easy when put into words, but nothing makes sense. Coming up with a solution instantly in this situation and executing it is amazing enough, but…

‘No, can you just push it away because you want to push it away?!’

Is it possible to push away the energy inside another person’s body from the outside? And without even touching them with a hand?

“Let’s live a bit more sensibly, sensibly!”

“This is sensible enough.”

Jang-il glanced back.

“Not as many followed as I thought.”

Compared to the number that had initially rushed at them, it had decreased to about half of half.

“Since they have no reason, when something’s not visible to their eyes, they probably lose motivation.”

“So what are you going to do now?”

“I’ll have to knock down the remaining ones similarly. But before that…”

Wei Yan-ho shrugged his shoulders and walked toward the collapsed martial artists.

“Let’s first check if they can be treated. If that’s not possible, then nothing has any meaning.”

Everyone followed behind Wei Yan-ho with tense faces.
