Chapter 636:

‘What in the world!’

Cheon-ryu’s eyes bulged as if they would tear apart.

A torrent of light.

He saw a torrent of light in his eyes. Light continuously flowed from Wei Yan-ho, who was surrounded by light and barely visible.

Up to that point, it was understandable.

Cheon-ryu already knew well that Wei Yan-ho used incomprehensible swordsmanship. Hadn’t he already experienced it with his own body?

But that could hardly be called swordsmanship at all.

Even if one could somehow emit light, how was it possible to contain such power within that light?

“Aaaaaargh!”

Those caught in the torrent of light were screaming in agony.

Those who could at least scream were the fortunate ones. Those who took the direct hit of the torrent couldn’t even groan, let alone scream, and were swept away.

It was impossible.

Even if that torrent were an actual rushing torrent, it couldn’t render the trained and re-trained martial artists of Ten Thousand Swords so powerless. Then what was this torrent of light that it could display such power?

It was as if a river had suddenly appeared on the vast earth.

It was like watching a dried valley suddenly covered by raging torrents from a fierce summer downpour.

Screams.

And shock.

And that mass of light disappeared in an instant like pouring light, as if it were an illusion.

Cheon-ryu looked at Wei Yan-ho with trembling eyes.

“Whew.”

Wei Yan-ho descended to the ground.

Two things had changed.

One was that the light covering Wei Yan-ho’s body had disappeared, and the other was that Wei Yan-ho’s body was no longer in a swollen state.

Those small changes.

The sacrifice they paid to bring about those two changes was far too enormous.

“…Ugh.”

“Uugh.”

Those swept away by the torrent of light lay on the ground groaning. Only intermittent writhing movements could be felt, and most were unconscious, unable even to groan.

A huge gap had been punched through the middle of the vast army.

The charging momentum stopped.

They could only look at Wei Yan-ho with faces filled with shock and pale terror.

They had no choice.

How could they maintain composure after seeing such a scene?

They had witnessed with their own eyes something they had never imagined.

They too were people of Jianghu.

They too were those who walked the path of martial arts.

Therefore, they couldn’t help but be entranced by the otherworldly power they witnessed with their eyes.

What barely held onto their reason was that the one who displayed this power was their enemy, and perhaps soon that same power might cover them again.

“R-run…”

The words couldn’t be completed.

But that small voice perfectly represented the feelings of everyone present.

Fight against that?

Against that?

That would be madness.

Their legs became heavier than a thousand pounds. The feet that should step forward wouldn’t move as if stuck to the ground.

“Mm.”

Crack, crack.

Wei Yan-ho turned his head left and right. He moved various parts as if adapting to his body that had returned to normal.

Movements as if nothing had happened.

Wei Yan-ho acted as if striking down so many people with a single blow was nothing special. And that appearance definitely pressured those watching.

Just as their feet stuck to the ground were about to turn backward without their knowing!

“Don’t retreat!”

A booming voice burst forth.

Baek Hoe-myeong.

He was shouting as if coughing up blood.

“Only once! He can’t do it twice! Look! Can’t you feel his weakened energy!”

Baek Hoe-myeong drew his sword and pointed it at Wei Yan-ho.

“As long as he’s human, he can’t do such things multiple times. Don’t retreat! I’ll take the lead. As long as he’s human, a blade can pierce him. If a blade can pierce him, we can kill him!”

They were crude words.

But those words held back the feet of those trying to retreat.

“That’s right!”

Cheon-ryu also raised his voice.

“Don’t forget that you carry the name of Ten Thousand Swords. That retreating step might seem trivial. But that one step will make you unable to advance ever again. Even if you die, don’t break your will!”

Even the same words feel different depending on who says them.

Cheon-ryu had devoted his entire life to the sword. If he wanted, he could have obtained power or wealth in abundance. Words from such a person definitely stirred the listeners.

The agitation subsided.

Wei Yan-ho watched this and clicked his tongue.

‘As expected, it won’t end with one blow.’

Things didn’t go as he thought.

He had intended to release all the energy gathered in his body at once to seize the momentum, but handling such energy was difficult even for Wei Yan-ho.

The energy he tried to unleash all at once flowed out over time. Even creating such results with just that was remarkable, but it failed to break their spirit instantly.

Which meant.

‘Now I have to settle it with my body.’

Wei Yan-ho gripped Baekgeom tighter.

He had fought countless battles.

Since leaving the cave, Wei Yan-ho’s life had always been battle after battle. Could there be anyone else besides Wei Yan-ho who had experienced such fierce battles in such a short time?

He couldn’t be called a veteran of a hundred battles, but he had reached the point where he wouldn’t lose his composure on the battlefield. That was also one of the things Baek Mu-han had focused on teaching Wei Yan-ho.

But even Wei Yan-ho couldn’t help but feel tense at this moment.

‘This is tremendous.’

Without turning his head, he couldn’t see the end. Everywhere his eyes could see seemed filled with enemies. Maintaining composure while facing such a great army alone?

It wasn’t an easy task.

Even if it were an ordinary army, it would give heart-crushing pressure, but those filling his front weren’t even an ordinary army. They were people who could definitively argue for being the best in Jianghu, excluding the Demonic Cult.

People who could be said to have surpassed the past glory of Ten Thousand Swords.

It was facing such people.

“Whew.”

Wei Yan-ho took a deep breath.

The image of Baek Mu-han appeared in his mind.

“What should you do when facing an enemy you can’t handle?”

“Yes.”

“What nonsense are you talking about? Where would such a method exist?”

“…Huh, even Master has no method?”

“Look at this foolish guy. If there were a method to face someone stronger than me, who in the world would train? There’s no such method, so we desperately try to become strong. Train, you fool! Don’t be lazy.”

“But there are times when you have no choice.”

“Then it’s simple. Run away.”

“…Is that something a master should say?”

“It’s because I’m your master that I’m saying it! You foolish guy, if you die showing off for no reason, you’ll be cursed even in the afterlife.”

“Then there’s no answer except running away?”

“There’s also the method of begging desperately.”

“Agh! Really!”

“Shut up, you fool. It’s a hundred times better than showing off for no reason. What’s wrong with being a bit pathetic? You can only be pathetic if you’re alive. Still, I’m relieved that you don’t seem like you’d do reckless things because of useless pride. Those types always die early. So if such a situation arises, run away without looking back.”

“…There’s nowhere to run.”

Wei Yan-ho sighed.

What would Baek Mu-han have said if he saw Wei Yan-ho now?

Would he be happy that the incredibly lazy guy had finally become human, or would he scold him for doing useless things like a fool?

In Wei Yan-ho’s opinion, it seemed more like the latter.

Baek Mu-han wasn’t someone who cared about dignity or anything. If he heard about facing such people, he would have clicked his tongue and pointed fingers.

“Hey, you fool! Why don’t you do what you’re told to do, and only pick the things you’re told not to do! You blockhead!”

‘That’s right.’

Wei Yan-ho couldn’t help but chuckle.

It seemed he was destined not to be a good disciple. He had troubled Baek Mu-han endlessly during his lifetime(?), and even after he left, he still wasn’t listening to his words.

But what could he do?

Wei Yan-ho gripped his sword tightly.

His heart was beating like crazy. Come to think of it, since entering Jianghu, this was the second time he was facing someone he clearly thought was stronger than himself.

How about it?

Has Wei Yan-ho improved compared to that time?

Has he become more determined?

‘I wouldn’t know.’

It wasn’t his concern.

Wei Yan-ho charged forward. His body was incredibly light.

It was amusing.

Even though all that energy filling his body had drained out at once, instead of feeling empty, he was filled with a sense of liberation as if he could do anything.

“Attack!”

Cheon-ryu shouted and charged forward. Following him, the white army covered Wei Yan-ho like waves rushing toward the shore.

Competitive spirit could be seen on the face of Cheon-ryu charging at the front.

However…

‘Grandfather, you can’t do it anymore.’

He had already crossed swords with Cheon-ryu.

Wei Yan-ho had been ahead then too, but there might have been a chance for Cheon-ryu at that time. Victory isn’t always determined solely by the level of martial arts.

The condition of that day and various variables affect the outcome. If the difference isn’t that great, it can be overcome with quick thinking.

But not anymore.

Cheon-ryu’s sword, flowing like water, came slashing at Wei Yan-ho. But to Wei Yan-ho now, that sword was far too slow.

Cheon-ryu’s sword had meaning when it flowed. A sword that seemed to be stopped had no meaning.

Like now.

Thunk.

Wei Yan-ho’s sword deflected Cheon-ryu’s incoming sword. The sword filled with tremendous sword force was deflected to the sky all too easily.

Shocked eyes.

A strike aimed at the exposed chest.

Slash!

Wei Yan-ho’s Baekgeom cut across the chest of Cheon-ryu, who desperately twisted his body. He barely avoided the heart, but a serious sword wound was created that split half his chest.

After that…

Kwaang!

Wei Yan-ho kicked Cheon-ryu as is.

With the roar of exploding gunpowder, Cheon-ryu’s body spun and was flung in a straight line. Those who had been charging following Cheon-ryu were swept up and tumbled together.

Momentarily, space was created in front of Wei Yan-ho.

And that was a fatal mistake.

“Aaaaah!”

Wei Yan-ho’s sword began emitting light.

Orbs of light.

Pure white orbs of light appeared around the sword. Dozens of orbs instantly began expanding their size, and soon each grew to the size of a human body.

Sword spheres.

The sword spheres, which would normally not exceed the size of a child’s fist, grew to the size of a grown man’s torso and shot out in all directions.

Kwaaaaang!

Kwaaaaaaang!

Explosions of light that seemed to tear the eyes apart tore not the eyes but the flesh.

Those caught in the explosion of the light orbs couldn’t even scream and collapsed to the ground.

Ten Thousand Swords?

Ten Thousand Swords?

‘Ridiculous.’

This wasn’t Ten Thousand Swords. Baek Mu-han would have snorted if he saw this. Ten Thousand Swords was the perfected form of swordsmanship that extracted the essence of all swords in the world.

No one in the world except Baek Mu-han could discuss Ten Thousand Swords. No one in the world except Baek Mu-han could speak of the perfection of swordsmanship.

Wei Yan-ho would prove that now.

“Aaaaaaaah!”

Wei Yan-ho’s Baekgeom began emitting brilliant light.

An army of ten thousand and a sword master of light.

It was a battle that would remain in legend, a battle that would shake the world.
