SFRW-Chapter 242
by SbmjamCh. 242 Sword God From The Ruined World
“Arrogant bastards!”
Rebley gnashed his teeth at the sight of humans returning to Bartloma.
This time, he would show them true terror.
Above all, he vowed to capture that human with the tempting body and transform them into a powerful monster.
“Kukuku! Stupid fool.”
Rebley smirked while watching Rixis struggle through the black orb.
Despite possessing giant strength, innate magic control, and a mysterious third eye, Rixis was nothing more than a strong idiot in Rebley’s eyes – weak against the strong yet arrogant toward the weak.
Powerful abilities wasted on incompetence.
“Yes, keep fighting until your body breaks!”
This was precisely why Barhaut never truly valued Rixis.
The Oktrals tribe’s arrogance and slow wit only suited mindless destruction – playing king over weaker beings like on Earth.
“Hmm… Is that the Thunder God’s power? But Rooker Himaid should have…”
The lightning emanating from Rixis’ opponent made Rebley frown.
Though similar, danger warnings screamed in his mind.
“Rooker Himaid…”
A Transcendent even Rebley couldn’t disrespect.
Once a slave beneath Rixis who couldn’t meet his gaze, their positions had completely reversed.
After becoming Transcendent, Rooker’s subtle defiance toward Barhaut made Rebley resent both siblings deeply.
Yet now, another human wielded Rooker’s power?
“There can’t be two Thunder Gods… No way Rooker died to such…”
Rebley’s face twisted in confusion.
Moreover, this human clearly couldn’t properly control the power.
“No weakling could wield the Thunder God’s—!”
Rebley’s jaw dropped as authentic divine lightning erupted from the man in the orb.
“Th-Thunder God’s power…?”
This was undeniable.
Which meant…
“Rooker Himaid is dead?!”
Rebley’s face hardened. After staring blankly at the orb, he urgently contacted someone.
***
“W-what… What is this?!”
Rixis panicked as enormous lightning pillars erupted from the magic explosion.
Shinjo stood unharmed when he should’ve been obliterated – freezing Rixis’ thoughts.
Simultaneously…
Tremble tremble
‘Am…am I shaking?’
Tremors spread from fingertips throughout his body.
Sweat dripped from his brow for the first time in his life. His legs kept buckling.
Most alarmingly –
A blaring warning screamed in his mind.
Primordial fear begged him to flee.
‘This makes no sense!’
The human before him was proven weaker.
Though possessing the Thunder God’s power, they couldn’t properly control it – all show, no substance.
‘He can’t master it! Just got lucky facing death!’
Rixis ignored the warnings, attributing Shinjo’s survival to desperate instinct.
Pure coincidence.
“This time I’ll definitely kill—!”
As Rixis activated his third eye to suppress magic flow—
Shinjo raised his head, gasping heavily.
His eyes gleamed electric blue-white.
Crackle crackle crackle
Tiny currents surged within his pupils.
“Impossible!”
Rixis realized his mistake—
Shinjo had gained perfect control.
For a moment, he hallucinated Rooker’s face over Shinjo’s – remembering how Rooker had beaten him mercilessly with this power.
‘I need to escape—!’
As Rixis rolled his eyes seeking an exit, Shinjo swung his sword as if asking where he thought he was going.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Seven lightning bolts struck around Rixis.
Zzzzt—CRACK!
“…Ghk!”
Though only one bolt hit directly, the impact was devastating.
Crackle-zzt!
“T-this trivial—!”
Rixis flailed to shake off the currents clinging like disgusting insects, only worsening the pain.
“GAAAAAH!”
Roaring, Rixis charged Shinjo, clinging to one hope—
Even with control, Shinjo couldn’t wield the power skillfully yet.
His full-powered punch launched magic bullets that burst the very air.
Shinjo bisected them with a single horizontal slash.
KWAARRRRL!
A lightning storm erupted from his blade, annihilating every bullet and smashing into Rixis.
KWA—AANG!
“Cough—Hurk!”
Rixis vomited blood as he was sent flying.
The party gaped.
“Is…is that the Thunder God’s power?”
“Madness! Did Shinjo become Transcendent too?”
“Not Transcendent.”
Choi Kang-soo relayed the Divine Sword’s assessment.
“You call that not Transcendent after one-shotting a monster?!”
Rahf frowned skeptically but didn’t argue further against the Divine Sword’s judgment.
“What do you think, Seo Do-jun?” Hyun Joo-yeon asked.
“Choi Kang-soo’s right. He’s far from Transcendent.”
“Far from it?!”
How could such power still fall short?
No one could comprehend how mighty a true Transcendent must be.
Moreover—
‘Just how strong is Seo Do-jun, who fought two Transcendents alone?’
To Hyun Joo-yeon, Seo Do-jun now seemed impossibly distant.
Meanwhile, Rixis stood, roughly wiping blood from his mouth.
Despite being sent flying, he appeared less injured than expected.
“RAAAAAH!”
Spreading his arms wide, Rixis opened his third eye, suppressed all magic flow, then clapped his palms together.
ZZZ—OOOOM!
A visible magic tsunami rushed at Shinjo with crushing force.
Everyone shouted for him to dodge.
But Shinjo chose to face it head-on.
‘The Thunder God’s all-destroying power!’
The old Shinjo would’ve seen death in this attack.
Huuuuhp!
Taking a deep breath, Shinjo gripped his sword until the hilt creaked and swung down with cleaving force.
KWAARRRRL!
Lightning erupted, forming a massive thunder sword that collided with the magic wave.
ZZZZZZZZZT—!
Space distorted. Air exploded. Magic detonated in chain reactions. The shockwave carried lethal currents.
Kusak swiftly erected a flame wall to protect the party.
“…Damn it!”
The wall shattered easier than expected, twisting Kusak’s face.
As he prepared another—
Veronica swung her sword, creating a massive water shield.
“…Haah, I…”
Kusak sighed involuntarily at Veronica’s overwhelming growth.
Pat pat
“Don’t despair. Who knows? Maybe you’ll absorb the Fire God’s power too?” Veronica teased.
“Fire God’s power? That exists?”
“…No idea. Maybe somewhere.”
“…Goddamn it!”
Realizing he’d been mocked, Kusak glared, but Veronica just laughed condescendingly.
“I’ll find and absorb the Fire God’s power or whatever flame essence exists!”
Veronica kept laughing down at him.
Meanwhile—
Seeing his ultimate attack fail, Rixis decided to flee.
‘Fighting that monster alone is suicide!’
Bartloma was Rebley’s problem now.
But Shinjo wouldn’t let him escape.
With a ground-shattering leap, Shinjo appeared behind Rixis.
A light slash—
Zzzzt!
“Keuk!”
Lightning coursed through Rixis’ back, sending him crashing face-first.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Shinjo’s slashes called down relentless lightning strikes.
Rixis rolled madly to dodge, a far cry from his arrogant entrance.
The party burst into laughter at his pathetic scrambling.
Humiliated, Rixis burned with rage but had no room for retaliation.
‘What kind of monster…?!’
Despite his advantage, Shinjo showed no complacency – executing every move flawlessly.
Zzzzt!
“Ck!”
Slash! Slash!
“Kgh!”
KWA-RL!
“Guh—k!”
Lightning-charged sword energy cleaved Rixis’ right thigh.
Bolts pierced both shoulders.
His abdomen took a direct hit, smashing him into the ground.
“Rebley! What are you doing?!”
Rixis screamed at Rebley’s inaction.
-You fool!
A booming voice echoed through the air.
“That’s it! That eyeball!”
Choi Kang-soo shuddered as Rebley’s eye reappeared in the sky.
“Were you waiting for me to die?! Why hesitate?!”
Rixis thought the danger had passed with Rebley’s arrival.
-Rest now! As for you…I’ll handle you personally!
KWA-RL! KWA-RRL!
Black lightning, starkly different from Shinjo’s blue-white bolts, rained down.
“…It’s real?”
Kusak’s eyes widened at Rebley’s supernatural attack – summoning lightning from empty air.
“My turn then—”
Veronica stepped forward, eager after watching Shinjo.
ZZZZZT!
But Shinjo intercepted, clashing his lightning against Rebley’s.
The spectacle of black and blue lightning colliding was breathtaking.
As everyone stared transfixed, Rixis saw his chance to slip away unnoticed.
CRUNCH!
“Kehk!”
His face was smashed into the ground.
“Where are you scurrying off to, rat?”
Seo Do-jun stood atop Rixis’ head, having watched silently until now.
