SFRW-Chapter 123
by SbmjamCh. 123 Sword God From The Ruined World
“…Wh-where is this place?”
Choi Kang-soo, completely drenched, looked around with a trembling voice.
The ground had shaken as if from an earthquake before suddenly giving way beneath him, sending him plummeting endlessly.
I’m going to die now!
This is how my life ends!
As he fell, Choi Kang-soo was certain he would die.
At that moment, thoughts of his father brought tears streaming down his face.
His father who raised him alone after his mother passed away suddenly from cancer without proper treatment.
Remembering how hard his father had worked to provide for his five-year-old son made Choi Kang-soo regret everything he had (or hadn’t) done.
‘Father! If I’m reborn as your son again, I’ll repay you tenfold for all I couldn’t do this time! Waaah!’
Though filled with belated regret and tears…
Splash! Thud!
Choi Kang-soo landed in icy water, surviving dramatically.
After barely swimming to shore, he looked up at the sky – only darkness greeted him.
“Fuck! If you brought me here, take responsibility! You bastard! Motherfucker!”
Choi Kang-soo screamed curses at Seo Do-jun, but only echoes answered him.
Despite his anger, with Seo Do-jun nowhere in sight, fear consumed Choi Kang-soo’s expression.
The faint light revealed they were in a cave.
“Is…is this the end?”
The pool he fell into wasn’t wide, with only one patch of land to stand on.
“…The beginning?”
With no choice, Choi Kang-soo began walking down the endless tunnel.
* * *
Against all odds, no monsters appeared during his long walk.
But the extreme tension drained his stamina completely – his underwear was soaked with sweat.
“How long is this damn tunnel?”
Tap…tap…tap…
“…Wh-what’s that?”
A rhythmic sound ahead made Choi Kang-soo freeze.
In the dim light, he strained his eyes – it was just water dripping from the ceiling.
The thirst hit him suddenly.
He opened his mouth to catch the drops.
Tap.
“Could be cooler…”
After drinking his fill, he continued until encountering an enormous earthen door blocking the path.
With no other options, Choi Kang-soo carefully pushed it open.
Inside was a vast plaza with a single kneeling figure at its center.
“A…a person?”
The motionless man turned out to be a skeleton in armor, long dead.
Beside him was an exquisite longsword buried deep in marble flooring.
“Fuck! Why embed it so deep?!”
No matter how hard he pulled, the sword wouldn’t budge.
Finding no exits, Choi Kang-soo collapsed in despair.
“Fuck! Let me out! Monsters, anything – just appear!”
His angry shouts echoed pointlessly.
He even shook the skeleton’s shoulders in frustration.
Whoosh!
A white light burst from the remains before they crumbled to dust.
The truth dawned on Choi Kang-soo – even this powerful warrior couldn’t escape, doomed to die here alone.
“…No…not like this…”
Tears streamed down as true terror set in – not of monsters, but of starving to death forgotten in this tomb.
“Father…I’m sorry…”
He cried himself to sleep, wishing this was just a nightmare.
Just as death’s shadow loomed…
BOOM!
The entire cavern shook violently.
BOOM!
The ceiling collapsed as someone crashed through the rubble.
“…You really were alive.”
At Seo Do-jun’s voice, Choi Kang-soo burst into tears.
“Fuck! What took you so long?!”
But Seo Do-jun looked terrible – clothes torn and burned, hair matted with blood and sweat.
Before he could respond…
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Monsters began raining down through the hole in the ceiling.
“…What? AHHH! What now?!”
