Ch. 250 Sword God From The Ruined World

Seo Do-jun and his companions watched the approaching figures before turning to Twek with a question.

“Are those them? The humans who willingly became slaves to the vampires and act as their hunting dogs?”

At Seo Do-jun’s question, Twek glared at the humans with hostility and answered,

“That’s right. They’re the filthy vampires’ loyal hunting dogs.”

Honestly, it didn’t matter to Seo Do-jun whether the humans here sided with the vampires or the werewolves.

What mattered was that they stood on Barhaut’s side—a fact that left no room for even the slightest acknowledgment.

“This is our matter, so we’ll handle it—”

Seo Do-jun raised a hand, cutting off Twek’s words.

“They’ll still be wary of us, so to ease that tension, we’ll take care of them.”

At Seo Do-jun’s words, Twek grinned and stepped back, as if he couldn’t ask for more.

Seeing this, Seo Do-jun let out a soft chuckle before looking at Shinjo and Grichuk.

“You won’t need much time, right?”

“Ten minutes will be enough.”

“I’ll. End. It. In. A. Flash.”

Shinjo and Grichuk drew their swords and stepped forward.

“Uncle, I’ll lend a hand too!”

“Do as you please.”

At Seo Do-jun’s response, Choi Kang-soo leisurely followed behind Shinjo, declaring he’d be back soon.

“Let’s sit back and enjoy the show.”

As Seo Do-jun sat down comfortably, Twek and the werewolves didn’t hesitate to plop down as well.

Having already fought alongside them once, they knew just how strong Seo Do-jun’s group was—hence their relaxed demeanor.

Meanwhile.

“What the hell are those things?”

The humans, who were supposed to be hunting down the werewolves, were baffled.

Their prey was sitting around nonchalantly, while some strange newcomers approached.

“Does anyone know who they are?”

None of the hundred or so humans seemed to recognize Seo Do-jun’s group, shaking their heads in confusion.

“Well, who cares? If they’re with the werewolf bastards, we’ll just slaughter them all!”

“Right! Let’s go!”

Their numerical superiority, the artifacts given to them by the vampires, and—most importantly—the four figures standing at the very back with their arms crossed filled the humans with confidence.

“Raaaaaah!”

With battle cries, the humans of Iostem, now reduced to the vampires’ hunting dogs, charged forward.

Their momentum was impressive.

Every time a red glow flashed, a bloody mist spread, obscuring vision, or countless bats suddenly swarmed out of thin air.

The artifacts provided by the vampires for hunting werewolves proved highly effective.

But—

Crackle! Boom!

With every swing of their swords, lightning surged outward, instantly dispersing the bloody mist and bat swarms.

“Humans who wield lightning…?”

Twek and the werewolves had sensed it during the previous fight, but watching from behind now, they were struck anew by Shinjo’s overwhelming power.

“Th-This can’t be!”

“How can mere humans—?!”

The hunting dogs gasped in shock at the lightning erupting from Shinjo’s sword, but—

“The real absurdity is something else.”

As Seo Do-jun said, the truly ridiculous power wasn’t Shinjo’s—it was the Void of Darkness unleashed by Grichuk.

Slash! Slice! Splurt!

Blades shot out from sudden voids, cleanly severing the hunting dogs’ necks, freezing them in terror.

And those frozen in fear were nothing but easier prey for Grichuk.

“…Ugh… uuuuh…”

In less than five minutes, the movements of the hunting dogs, now cowed by Shinjo and Grichuk, were paralyzed by fear.

Nearly half their numbers had died in that short time without even getting a chance to fight back.

No matter how vicious they were, none dared raise their weapons now.

“Lord Phelpne!”

One of the hunting dogs screamed toward the back—the name of one of the four humans who had been standing there with their arms crossed.

The hunting dogs desperately looked to them, believing they were the only ones who could turn the tide.

But despite their composed posture, the four were just as panicked by the situation.

‘Where did these monsters come from? How is lightning coming out with every sword swing?!’

‘What’s with the guy in the pitch-black armor? Is he even human?’

‘There’s no way we can fight them!’

‘Even the vampires would struggle against them…’

They were once human, but now, they were half-vampires—chosen ones.

Though they had been the strongest fighters in the hunting teams, they were certain they couldn’t handle Shinjo and Grichuk.

“Lord Phelpne!”

Even as their comrades died in seconds, the four half-vampires remained frozen.

The hunting dogs’ voices grew resentful.

Finally, the four exchanged glances and nodded in unison.

‘This isn’t a fight we should be in!’

‘Rather than die meaninglessly, we must report their existence!’

They justified it as prioritizing warning their masters, but in truth, they had unanimously decided to flee.

“Hold the line!”

With those words, the four turned to escape—

“Where do you think you’re going?”

Choi Kang-soo, who had been watching them the whole time, smirked and blocked their path.

“Move!”

“You wanna die?!”

Intending to quickly kill this insignificant-looking man before Shinjo and Grichuk arrived, the four half-vampires lunged at once.

Sharp fangs, pale skin, elongated claws—traits befitting vampires, even if they were only half-breeds.

The only downsides were their inability to turn into bats and their lack of steel-like durability.

Still, they believed they could easily tear Choi Kang-soo apart and escape.

At least, until holy energy erupted from his Divine Sword.

Flash!

With four precise screams, the half-vampires were sent flying back into the surviving hunting dogs.

Their claws were shattered, and blood gushed from their mouths.

“…Are they even vampires?”

Choi Kang-soo frowned, bewildered.

He had expected them to be stronger, given how they slaughtered werewolves like mice.

“They’re half-vampires!”

At Twek’s shout, Choi Kang-soo finally understood, nodding.

“So they’re just crazed lunatics who desperately wanted to become vampires?”

Clicking his tongue, he sheathed his sword, having lost all interest.

While Shinjo and Grichuk had been dominating the hunting dogs, Choi Kang-soo had stayed back to deal with the four half-vampires.

But since they were just weak half-breeds, he saw no point in continuing.

Sure enough, one half-vampire’s head was already cleanly severed by Grichuk’s blade, while another had been obliterated by Shinjo’s lightning, leaving no trace.

“P-Please… spare us!”

The surviving hunting dogs threw down their weapons and begged for mercy.

But no one in Seo Do-jun’s group—especially those aligned with Barhaut—had any intention of granting it.

“…Thank you.”

Twek expressed his gratitude to Seo Do-jun’s group for handling what should have been their task, then formally extended his hand.

“We’ll invite you to our city.”

Lauf, the city of the werewolves that the vampires had been desperately searching for.

By inviting them, Twek was showing his trust.

“Isn’t it too soon to trust us?”

At Seo Do-jun’s question, Twek grinned.

“Because you’re trustworthy.”

‘They’re going to get badly hurt acting like this.’

Seo Do-jun thought so, but it wasn’t until they arrived at Lauf that he realized the werewolves weren’t so naive.

***

Lauf, the hidden city of the werewolves, a refuge from the vampires and their human hunting dogs.

Surprisingly, Lauf was a massive underground city.

“Looks like a pretty ancient place, huh?”

As Twek said, Lauf bore the appearance of a city so old its origins were untraceable.

“It’s an abandoned ancient city. It belonged to an underground race called the Buruf, who lived during the era of the Fallen Angels.”

Having never heard of such a race, Seo Do-jun’s group silently listened to Twek’s explanation.

“It was Lord Bolikos who discovered this place. Before the full-scale war with the vampires began, we were lucky enough to find it and use it as our sanctuary.”

“You can’t just come here after visiting once or twice.”

Not only was the city deep underground, but reaching it required navigating a labyrinthine path.

Stray even slightly, and you’d be trapped underground, left to await death.

“Finding the way is hard enough, but our brothers are also keeping watch everywhere. Not even the vampires can invade without paying with their lives.”

Shinjo and Choi Kang-soo shook their heads in disbelief.

With such obstacles and werewolves lying in ambush, infiltration seemed impossible.

“Then why are they following us like this?”

From the moment they entered Lauf, countless werewolves had been trailing Seo Do-jun’s group.

By now, their numbers had far exceeded hundreds, making Choi Kang-soo uneasy.

Though silent, Shinjo and Rahf were also on high alert.

“Keh heh! What’s wrong? Scared?”

“As if!”

Choi Kang-soo retorted loudly, but his hand clenched tightly around his sword’s hilt.

Twek only laughed harder at the sight.

When they reached the center of the city—a massive altar—Twek finally stopped.

“All of you, step onto that altar.”

“…What is this?”

Choi Kang-soo frowned at the ominous altar, stained with dried blood.

Seo Do-jun also looked at Twek for an explanation.

“It’s the Altar of the Angels. A relic of the Fallen Angels, capable of discerning falsehood.”

If Seo Do-jun’s group had deceived Twek, this altar would reveal it.

No wonder he had trusted them so easily—he had this as insurance.

And if they were lying?

Thousands of werewolves had already surrounded them.

Balistas, positioned on the rooftops of surrounding buildings, were aimed precisely at them.

“If you’re not lying, there’s no reason to hesitate, right?”

Choi Kang-soo tried to argue, but Seo Do-jun cut in.

“I understand, but this is a pretty nasty welcome.”

With that, he stepped onto the altar.

“Tch! So this was their plan all along!”

Though he understood the werewolves’ caution, Choi Kang-soo was still deeply annoyed.

One by one, the rest followed.

Standing on the altar, they couldn’t help but tense under the gaze of thousands of werewolves and the balistas trained on them.

Most of all—

“Can we really trust this altar?”

Choi Kang-soo began to doubt its reliability.

“We’ll see.”

Seo Do-jun replied indifferently, examining the altar curiously.

The strange energy emanating from it had piqued his interest.

“I’ll ask once more. Where are you from, and why have you come here?”

Speaking for the group, Seo Do-jun answered Twek’s question, repeating what he had said before.

He spoke clearly, ensuring every werewolf could hear.

As he finished—

Huuuuuummmmm—!

The entire altar trembled before emitting a grayish light.
