Ch. 231 Sword God From The Ruined World

People who watched Heavy Mountain turn Hokkaido into ruins through their TV screens could feel nothing but shock and terror at the sight of a moving mountain that was actually a monster.

└”This is insane! That thing’s a monster?!”

└ “Honestly, I don’t think anyone can kill that thing.”

└ “Hokkaido’s done for.”

└ “Honestly, it’s a blessing that thing appeared in Hokkaido. If it had shown up on the mainland… just thinking about it is terrifying.”

└ “A monster like that, immune to modern weapons, should be contained on an island.”

└ “It can’t cross the ocean, right?”

└ “Even if it’s as big as a mountain, crossing the sea is just ridiculous.”

└”The U.S. just released intel—that thing was the one stationed in the Arizona Monster Wave’s rift zone! Its name is Heavy Mountain!”

└ “Arizona? The one that was broadcasted live worldwide?”

└ “No way! So someone actually killed that insane thing?”

└ “That someone was god Seo Do-jun!”

└ “Right! Remember when Seo Do-jun went into the rift alone? That was insane!”

└ “Holy crap… Seo Do-jun soloed that thing? How?”

└ “Trade secret!”

└”What kind of human was Seo Do-jun to take down something like that?”

└ “That’s why he’s god Seo Do-jun! Praise him!”

└ “Jung In-joo’s been leading the Casselian Guild so well that we almost forgot about Seo Do-jun… but now, we’re reminded that some situations can’t be solved without him.”

└ “Let’s be real—Jung In-joo’s a better guild leader, but no one can replace Seo Do-jun’s combat power.”

└ “That’s why he’s god Seo Do-jun! If he were here, Hokkaido wouldn’t be doomed.”

“This is making me nervous. What if monsters that even Jung In-joo and the Casselian Guild can’t handle start appearing now?”

└ “Shut your damn mouth! Don’t jinx it!”

└ “Seriously, words have power! Keep those thoughts to yourself!”

└ “LOL, Earth’s destruction project has begun!”

└ “Life’s already hard enough, might as well reset everything!”

└ “Reset? You’d still end up a broke loser anyway, LOL!”

└ “You crazy bastards! If you wanna die, do it alone!”

The revelation that Heavy Mountain had once been hunted by Seo Do-jun only made people miss him more.

Jung In-joo had spent the past nine months desperately trying to fill Seo Do-jun’s absence, but Heavy Mountain’s appearance shattered all her efforts.

“Frankly… we currently have no means to hunt Heavy Mountain.”

Disappointment filled the faces of the Hero Association’s board members, including Chairman Na Tae-hwang, at Jung In-joo’s words.

“Shouldn’t we at least try?”

The desperate voice belonged to the Japanese board member.

If anyone could attempt it, it would be the Casselian Guild members.

“Of course, we’ll try. But we can’t act recklessly without fully understanding its capabilities.”

“How long will that take?”

“I can’t say for sure right now.”

“By then, Hokkaido will be—”

The Japanese member stopped mid-sentence under Jung In-joo’s sharp gaze.

“This isn’t just about Hokkaido. If Heavy Mountain can cross the ocean…”

He swallowed the rest of his words.

Japan’s destruction would spell disaster for neighboring countries, especially South Korea—the only nation untouched by monsters thanks to the Casselian Guild.

Wealthy elites, celebrities, and politicians worldwide had already bought property in South Korea, causing a population surge.

Jokes about Korean becoming the global language weren’t far-fetched.

But now, even South Korea was at risk.

“We’ll find a way to hunt Heavy Mountain before it leaves Hokkaido.”

The only silver lining was Heavy Mountain’s slow movement speed—barely 2 kilometers a day.

At that rate, it would take roughly 200 days to leave Hokkaido and over two years to reach South Korea.

Still, Jung In-joo’s top priority was analyzing Heavy Mountain’s abilities and finding a way to defeat it.

No one could guarantee it wouldn’t appear elsewhere.

“When will Hero Seo Do-jun return?”

Like the rest of the world, the board members grew increasingly anxious about Seo Do-jun’s return.

“I don’t know.”

Jung In-joo couldn’t even guess.

“Sigh… We never realized how much we’d miss him in a crisis like this.”

They had prepared, but facing an insurmountable threat, they desperately wished for Seo Do-jun’s return.

Through Rahf’s dimensional passage, Seo Do-jun and his group arrived on an unknown planet—only to immediately encounter Heavy Mountain.

“That’s…”

“Long time no see. Heavy Mountain.”

Kusak and Veronica grimaced at the monster that had destroyed countless kingdoms in their ruined world.

“How many kingdoms did that bastard wipe out again?”

Veronica ignored Kusak, glaring at Heavy Mountain instead.

“Nice job, Rahf. Of all places, you had to open a portal here?”

Rahf grinned. “I can’t control the destination.”

“Just so you know, I can spit in your smiling face.”

Rahf stretched his grin wider, and Kusak spat.

“Missed!”

“You damn bastard…”

Gloria asked, “That’s the one from the Arizona rift, right?”

Seo Do-jun nodded.

“Can we take it?”

Seo Do-jun knew Heavy Mountain’s weakness—though Gloria didn’t realize it was the Terra Seed loophole.

In their ruined world, defeating Heavy Mountain required massive numbers and prolonged battles.

But now?

“I’ll be back soon.”

That was before absorbing the Dragon Heart.

Now, Seo Do-jun could see Heavy Mountain’s magic core deep within its mountain-like body—like a ‘Weakness Perception’ skill.

In an instant, Seo Do-jun vanished—then reappeared above Heavy Mountain.

He drew his sword and slashed downward.

SCHIIING!

“No way!”

“This is insane!”

“Holy—!”

Space itself split, cleaving Heavy Mountain in half.

BOOOOOOM!

The exposed magic core exploded, shattering the colossal monster into pieces.

With a single strike, Heavy Mountain was annihilated.

The group stared, jaws slack.

“Just how strong have you gotten, Uncle?”

Choi Kang-soo shuddered.

『I told you. He’s transcended.』

“What does that even mean?”

『A god.』

“A god?!”

Choi Kang-soo’s eyes bulged.

Humans couldn’t become gods—yet the Divine Sword stated it plainly.

Meanwhile, Seo Do-jun returned as if nothing had happened.

“Kassal… you’ve become something unbelievable.”

Kusak, Veronica, and Rakun could no longer see him as just a comrade.

An invisible wall had formed.

“Don’t overthink it. I’m still the same person.”

Kusak stammered, unable to reconcile the difference.

Time will fix this, Seo Do-jun thought.

After Heavy Mountain’s defeat, the group surveyed their surroundings.

“This place… feels familiar.”

A gray wasteland.

The stench of death.

A world reduced to ruins.

It looked exactly like their own ruined world.

“This is what happens when Barhaut conquers a planet.”

Bastlo was an exception—most worlds under Barhaut’s rule ended up like this.

“How many dimensions did we jump?”

Rahf shrugged. “No idea. The ring’s random.”

“You bastard! So we could’ve ended up underwater or in lava?!”

“Not that extreme, but yeah, maybe in the middle of a monster horde.”

The group sighed. Rahf was anything but reliable.

“But I can remember places I’ve been. That’s the condition.”

Veronica touched her sword hilt. “Should I cut off your thumb?”

Rahf quickly hid his hands.

“You can remember locations?”

Only Choi Kang-soo perked up.

“So we can see Seraph again. Heh.”

The others clicked their tongues and moved on.

***

Barhaut, enraged as his Guardian Planets were liberated one by one, swore to eliminate the intruders on the 36th planet.

He had prepared thoroughly.

But then—

“The Administrator fled?!”

Pope Alfrey had abandoned his post to save himself.

Barhaut executed him for his failure.

The only silver lining? The intruders were trapped on Bastlo.

“Lucky bastards.”

Barhaut redirected his fury.

To Earth.

“Deploy the forces of Kantos Planet.”

The 13th Guardian Planet, Kantos, housed mass-produced monsters—including Heavy Mountain.

The resource cost was staggering, but Barhaut was done waiting.

One Heavy Mountain was sent to Earth.

Just as he prepared to send another—uninvited guests arrived.
