Ch. 74 Sword God From The Ruined World

“If you try to swallow up Taesan Industries, he’ll definitely appear. Catch him when he does.”

Takashi, now a puppet under Seo Do-jun’s control, couldn’t refuse his orders.

The official apology to Seo Do-jun had all been an elaborate show.

Takashi had come to South Korea solely to act as bait to lure out Kang Young-pyo.

He had prepared thoroughly, but…

‘Th-the antidote isn’t working… Could it be…?’

He had anticipated Kang Young-pyo might use poison and had taken an antidote in advance.

‘Is this Obla’s venom?’

The problem was he never imagined Kang Young-pyo would use Obla’s venom—something impossible to predict.

Obla was a monster resembling a palm-sized spider found exclusively in Egypt’s rift zone in Africa.

While otherwise unremarkable, its venom was incomparably potent—no other monster’s poison came close.

Obla’s venom was extremely rare and had no reliable antidote, making it a fatal weapon Takashi couldn’t counter despite his preparations.

The only silver lining was that the preemptive antidote was neutralizing the venom to some degree.

But fighting Kang Young-pyo, an S-rank Hero, while poisoned by Obla was suicidal.

Using magic would accelerate the venom’s spread.

Takashi concluded his only chance was to escape rather than face Kang Young-pyo head-on.

“Die—!”

Kang Young-pyo snarled, driving his blade toward Takashi’s stomach.

Takashi abandoned defense or evasion and instead lunged forward.

Stab!

The cold steel pierced his abdomen, and blood gushed from his mouth.

Crash!

Despite being impaled, Takashi wrapped his arms around Kang Young-pyo and charged toward the window.

“You fucking madman—!”

Kang Young-pyo’s face twisted as they shattered the sixth-floor window and plummeted outside.

“N-no way…!”

Yang Woon, Taesan Industries figurehead CEO, and the Black Tiger Guild members panicked, scrambling after them.

Outside, Takashi and Kang Young-pyo lay separately, having split mid-fall.

“Goddamn bastard!”

Kang Young-pyo staggered up, coughing blood. The impact from being slammed onto the asphalt by Takashi had taken its toll.

Cough! Cough!

Takashi was in worse shape.

The stab wound had torn open from the fall, and reckless magic use had accelerated the venom’s spread.

But he’d succeeded in escaping the building.

And outside…

“Guild Master!”

“Takashi!”

Seven Teikoku Guild members stood ready.

Alerted to the ambush, they’d rushed to protect him.

“Just buy time… Cough! Cough!”

Supported by a guild member, Takashi spat blood and muttered.

Seo Do-jun was coming.

Seo Do-jun had anticipated Kang Young-pyo might suspect Takashi had backup, so he’d meticulously arranged to appear unrelated, planning to arrive separately at Taesan Industries.

His goal wasn’t to reveal himself but to capture Kang Young-pyo when he appeared.

Takashi had thought Seo Do-jun’s caution unnecessary—he believed he could handle Kang Young-pyo alone with his guild’s support.

But he hadn’t accounted for Obla’s venom.

Kang Young-pyo charged at the seven Teikoku members.

Despite spinal pain numbing his legs, he was confident he could dispatch seven A-rank Heroes swiftly.

And he was right.

The guild members were no match for an S-rank Hero, even an injured one.

Slash!

“Guh—!”

One member collapsed, clutching his gushing throat.

Kang Young-pyo blocked another’s attack barehanded before driving his blade deep into the attacker’s collarbone and twisting.

“AAAAH—!”

A punch to the face exploded the man’s head like a watermelon.

Two dead in seconds. Takashi gritted his teeth.

“Fall back!”

Two members pulled Takashi away while the remaining three sacrificed themselves to delay Kang Young-pyo.

But Black Tiger Guild members joined the fray, cutting off their retreat.

“You’ll die by my hand today, even if the world splits in two!”

Kang Young-pyo’s face was no longer human—twisted with hatred, bloodlust, and obsession.

Takashi accepted death was coming… but not alone.

He drew a sashimi knife (his katana had been left with the Hero Association for the ‘apology visit’).

“Last struggle?” Kang Young-pyo sneered, seeing Takashi’s blue-tinged face.

He couldn’t afford to drag this out—bystanders were filming, and Hero Association reinforcements would arrive soon.

Focusing magic, Kang Young-pyo prepared to finish Takashi in one strike.

Takashi raised his knife in an iaido stance.

“Rot in hell—!”

Kang Young-pyo lunged. Takashi unleashed his slash.

Slash—!

“Guh…!”

Kang Young-pyo’s blade tore through Takashi’s chest, exposing bone.

Takashi collapsed, vomiting blood. But…

“Fucking… bastard…”

He wasn’t the only one hurt.

A deep gash in Kang Young-pyo’s side from Takashi’s knife made him cough blood too.

Takashi laughed weakly before his head slumped.

“Guild Master!”

Gwak Jung-cheol rushed over as Hero Association members approached.

Kang Young-pyo, seeing this, snarled:

“…See you later.”

He fled.

Gwak Jung-cheol exhaled—this was the end for him and Black Tiger Guild.

No regrets. Just bad choices.

“Where’s Kang Young-pyo?”

Deputy Director Min Hong-gi arrived with association Heroes.

“Don’t know what you’re talking about,” Gwak Jung-cheol said calmly, lighting a cigarette.

“Arrest them all.”

A brawl erupted.

Min Hong-gi engaged Gwak Jung-cheol—once a top-five guild’s vice-leader, not a  pushover.

Their battle grew fiercer by the second.

Meanwhile, Seo Do-jun…

“Takashi is dead?”

Seo Do-jun frowned at Hyun Joo-yeon’s call.

“It’s being broadcast live! Kang Young-pyo killed Takashi and is fleeing east!”

Takashi should’ve been able to stall Kang Young-pyo.

“…Complications.”

His caution had backfired.

“Kang Young-pyo’s location?”

“Heading toward Gwangmyeong or Guro District.”

“Got it.”

Seo Do-jun pulled over—running would be faster than driving.

Expanding his senses, he scanned for Kang Young-pyo within a 3 km radius.

Then—

‘Kang Young-pyo?’

A unique energy signature registered nearby.

Seo Do-jun sprinted toward it… and prepared to meet someone he never expected to see.
